WindowMinimized ( window )
Parameters
| window - window to test |
Description
|
Returns 1 if a window is minimized to the taskbar, or 0 if it is not. Minimizing does not stop your program: the event loop keeps running, timers keep ticking and a canvas game loop keeps rendering into a window nobody can see. This is the check that lets you be polite about it - skip the expensive frame, or drop to a slow WaitEvent loop, while WindowMinimized returns 1, and pick the work back up when it returns 0. It answers for the current state whether your code called MinimizeWindow or the user clicked the minimize button, and it goes back to 0 after RestoreWindow, ActivateWindow, or a click on the taskbar button. If you want to be told rather than to ask, the application suspend and resume events ($2001 and $2002) arrive whenever your program loses or regains the foreground - which covers being minimized as well as being buried behind another application. WindowMinimized is still the right call when you need the state of one particular window in a multi-window tool. Requires Extended mode.
