Blip's Lessons
Blip the cube explains Blitz3D+ in short animated lessons, from your very first program to a whole 3D game. Every program in the lessons is ready to open and run.
New to coding? Start at the top of the list. Each lesson tells you which of the others to watch first.
Blitz3D+ Basics
- Your First Lesson - never coded before? Start here! Blip the cube explains the basics in a short animated lesson.
- Your First 3D Lesson - ready for 3D? Blip explains x, y and z, entities, meshes and brushes, then you build a 3D Blip.
- Your First 2D Game - ready to make a game? Blip shows you pixels, the main loop, keys, images and collisions, and you build Plus Catcher, a game you can play.
- Collisions and Physics - make things bump, bounce and crash! Blip explains collisions, then the physics engine: falling crates, bouncing balls and a wrecking ball.
- Types and Interfaces - ready for bigger programs? Blip shows you how to make your own types, give them methods and share jobs between them with interfaces.
- Collections - keeping lots of things together? Blip explains Lists, Maps, Sets, Queues and Stacks, then you build a tower of cubes.
- Textures, Materials and Shaders - make things look amazing! Blip shows you textures, brushes, see-through things and shiny materials, then you write a shader of your own.
- Particle Effects - make things sparkle! Blip shows you fire, smoke, sparks and snow made of particles, then gives 3D Blip a jetpack.
- Terrains - build landscapes! Blip shows you how to raise hills, walk over them and load an island from a picture, then paint it, plant a forest and dig.
- Models and Animation - bring models to life! Blip shows you how to load glTF models, find their parts and play their animations, then you take him for a walk in the woods.
Blitz3D+ Games
- Guardian - make a whole game! Blip builds Guardian with you, Mark Sibly's 3D take on Defender, with raiders, pirates, power-ups and a control panel with radar.
