If you're not going to upgrade, you'll have to get used to living with disappointment.
I have upgraded my PC through the years from the humble IBM XT to my PC I have today. I started on MSDOS 1 to XP Pro SP2 that I have today, everything was compatible and worked perfect until I upgraded from 98 to XP (the machine was 'too big' for 98).
