QuerySharedGame ( game_name$ )

Parameters

game_name$ - your game's name, as you give it to MatchSharedWorld

Description

Asks the Shared World service, in the background, for your game's choices, players and boards today.

The answer brings today's and yesterday's choices, how many people are in rooms with each key, and the boards of best scores for both days: the best ten of each of today's boards with this player's place on them, and the best three of yesterday's. Call it from your menu, before joining, and again whenever you want fresh boards, such as after a run.

It returns straight away: True means the question was sent, not answered. Keep drawing your menu and call SharedGameReady() each frame until it gives 1, then read the answer with SharedDailyCount, SharedDailyKey, SharedKeyPlayers, SharedBoardName and the others. The last answer stays readable while a new one is on its way. False means it could not ask, and SharedWorldError() says why; it needs a service, from b3d-shared-world.json or SharedWorldService, as joining does.

An online test's player asks the test's room, which keeps its own choices, from your b3d-shared-world.json, and its own boards while it lasts.

For the full story - room keys, the day's choices and boards - see the Shared World guide.
