JoyName$ ( [port] )

Parameters

port (optional) - stable controller slot, 0..15; 0 by default.

Description

Returns the controller display name as UTF-8, or an empty string for an absent port. Names are for display, not persistent identity; two identical controllers can have the same name.

Supported on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and web, subject to device and platform capabilities. Input requires application focus; device presence and names remain queryable in the background.
