Hey, any of you Brits out there, I've been wondering; on American keyboards, there's a $ dollar sign on the 4 key. Do British keyboards have the £ pound sign over the 4 instead?
POUND-ing the keyboard
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/POUND-ing the keyboard We have the £ over 3 and $ over 4
yep
If you have £ over the 3 then where's the #? :O
On a separate key, with ~
The ~ key also has ` on it. Where is your `, not to be confused with '?
In the wikipedia, there's an overview of the different keyboard layouts:

It seems that British keyboards have 3 buttons on the right side of the "L" key. The third one has the # sign and the ~.

In germany we have the real european currency, a € right below the E-key. :O)
With UK Mac keyboards, we have the Euro and @ symbols over 2, £ over 3 and $ over 4. Hashes have to be entered using the character mapper (which is a bit stupid, but there you go).
To get a hash, you can also hold down ALT and type 0035 on your number pad (if you have one, doesn't work on the top strip of numbers).
Thats for Windows, by the way.
on swedish ones we have all too but have to use the extensions button (altgr)
altgr+4 = $
altgr+3 = £
altgr+e = €

Yeah it really confuses me that the Mac keyboard layout is different from my PC layout.
