I'm disappointed about it not supporting Plays For Sure. I knew Microsoft supported it (or rather I thought) and reading that Zune isn't Plays For Sure really annoys me.

so Zune won't play for sure? good message to send out.
Anyway, Im not jumping on the hypewagon - Ipod killer? so what?
I won't buy an Ipod and I won't buy a Zune. Get over it. :)

Yeah. Get an iPod that only plays Apples proriety format, or a Zune that only plays Microsofts. Or an iRiver that plays Ogg.

Not exactly rocket science, is it?

Why are they complaing about the looks? It looks alot better than the iPods.

And I bet the battery isn't impossibly hard to get at.

DRM sucks, though. Good, open-ended PDAs (though hard to find) - even from a few years ago - continue to be far superior.

I've had a Creative Zen Touch for about 4 years now. I Use it quite a lot and it's a wonderfull piece of work. It supports that PlaysForSure stuff, has a 24-hour battery life and a 20gb or 40gb harddrive. It also plays Mp3 as well as WMA.

Yes, it's bigger than an Ipod, but It's definatly been worth it.

I was listening to some analysts on the radio the other day, and market research showed little brand loyalty towards Ipods, and actually opinion had dropped as more models became avaliable. 68% of ipod users said they would seriously consider the Zune if it offered them something they wanted. The sharing of music wasn't high on their wish list though.

Yeah. Get an iPod that only plays Apples proriety format

My iPod plays FHG's propritary mp3 amongst others like AAC (also non protected), wav, aiff,...

Obviously i would love to have ogg as an option. Basically there are two groups of iPod users: Those who have experienced problems with the iPod (like with the battery life) and those who haven't. If you're part of the first group then it can suck due to Apple pricing. If you belong to the second group like me than it's a nice designed working gadget which i'm happy with.

Yeah. Get an iPod that only plays Apples proriety format,

That is blatently untrue. I can load any MP3 I want onto my iPod and it plays it without problems.

That is blatently untrue.
No. It's an obvious exageration.

Just admit that you were wrong. Back pedaling makes you look silly.

"Microsoft Zune and Vista not compatible"

Brilliant. lol

I won an iPod nano (not the newest version) and it's OK. It's not great, because of the lack of gapless playback and some click-pop annoyances when switching it on. Also, the lack of ogg playback is a pain.

I want to buy an mp3 player, but I've not yet seen a comparison of audio quality between players. Years ago, iRiver topped the iPod for audio quality, but I don't know if that is true today.

I want a player with at least 80GB capacity, near-audiophile audio quality, OGG playback support and treats audiobooks in a user-friendly manner (remembering playback position for instance).
