Once again for the sake of research ;)
Collisions on a tile based enviroment. Id be interested to hear about any type of game, but I spose I am talking about platform games... [edit] in 2d
how do YOU do it?
thankee!
Is this 2D?
I don't do 2D - but isn't there an ImagesOverlap command?
In fact, is there not ImagesCollide too?
EDIT: I have never, ever, used them.
yeah sorry in 2d.
and sorry, i wasnt overly clear, I am aware of the commands, I was just wondering how people generally go about doing the whole process
Is it BMax, B3D or B+?
doesnt matter
but on white bread, not brown, in the morning, not afternoon. Pref starting in an even numbers hour
Figure out from the position of your player what blocks he is potentially overlapping, then do a standard blitz collision between him and the blocks at those positions.
If it's a case of whether he's standing on a platform or not then if the character's y position is platform's y position-height of character then character is standing on platform assuming character's x position=platform's x position.
