What web designers does everyone use
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/What web designers does everyone use
I'm looking for one, not keen on serif webplus.
Looking for one that doesnt involve any programming, but does a good job.
Ideas appreciated.:D
notepad...

Thx Perturbatio, but i dont want to have to pay cash, I'm very poor.
Red, notepad is a little short on drag and drop facilities. :D
i use notepad as well
This is how I made alllllll of this
www.lostpast.com/map.php yay notepad!
ConTEXT - www.context.cx
Best editor there is for web type stuff.
www.visibone.com supply everything else that you'd need. You might not want to pay any cash, but VisiBone products would be good value for money if they cost 5 times as much.
Frontpage and frequently the HTML tab within it, also Notepad.
Dreamweaver - Previously of Macromedia fame. Get it now before Adobe screws it up.
Nvu - highly recommended for people who care not for HTML. :o) Oh, and free as a free thing.
I use this old as dirt AOLPress editor I got about 8 years ago but it's still pretty good I think for a free abandonware app.

I use Programmer's Notepad 2 for PHP stuff...
For layout stuff I jump between different things, and generally do final tweeks in PN2.
For you people using Notepad, please stop :P
I completely agree that straight code is the best way to go, but I'm sure you also realize the usefulness of a syntax highlighter.
Dreamweaver MX here. I tried the studio Version and liked it but don't think it's viable for me to upgrade at the moment.
I make a web page once every couple of years, and usualy use DW.
AOLPress
Ah - I used that for YEARS! It's pretty cool but you may as well go for Nvu (which is basically the same thing only modernised) these days. CSS means you don't have to be a spod to write pages in Notepad once you've got your template sorted out, though.
ConTEXT.
notepad is best
DreamWeaver at school (cant seem to find an option for it not to automatically add a </NameOfTag> to each one I input though, drives me nuts), and FrontPage2k @ home.
I suggest Macromedia Dreamweaver over Frontpage. Atleast old Frontpages made crappy code. I use EditPlus a highlighted text editor.
Windows: Notepad
Linux: gedit (it has tabs and is better than Notepad)
I can't remember the last time I used a WYSIWYG web editor.
Dreamweaver 7 MX, and should stick to this version, later versions are massively bloated.
Thank you for all the responses
Trying Nvu, seems great WYSIWYG as opposed to the WYUSIWYMG of some packages - M = might
Some seem to complicate it unneccesarily.
HomeSite+
Notepad... Or vi from unix shell for quick 'live' changes.
Namo 4 and 5.
Drag and drop design, then click the 'html' tab to get to the nitty-gritty.
HTML-Kit
I used to program HTML directly to the metal in ASCII binary by rapidly depressing a push switch... but then the W3C introduced Enhanced Unicode fonts as a standard and I decided to stop being such a macho t*sser about it...
... now I use DreamWeaver
Thanks again for all the suggestions, I'm progressing with Nvu
notepad here as well. true men use notepad. harharhar.
UltraEdit, notepad is crap!
I also use firefox extensions for W3C compliance and tag checking.
PSP7 for image creation / editing.
