I'm looking forward to the 64bit age (Not to sure about Vista though, I guess I'm looking forward to that too), don't know exactly why, must be a kick back from the 8-bit to 16-bit console days! :)

I was looking forward to it this year. Its meant to be quicker than xp pro. Now thats gotta be good. From what I've read the beta's are supposed to be virtually feature complete and stable now.

Yes but not speed optimized. While I can run XP Pro with several additions (ObjectDock Plus and WinPlosion) without any speed problems, the actual build (5308) runs extremely slow and normally makes it impossible to work with it ... and I would not assume that a Radeon 9700 + 768MB RAM are not enough for regular desktop usage :-)

It sounds like the core elements of the OS are fitting into place nicely as to spec.
