I do not know much about Mac OS threats like spyware or viruses.

I do know Windows related spyware can do that. Do you run any Windows OS on your mac book? If it's WinXp, you might need to install some decent antispyware like Spybot S&D.

If that is not the case, you you connect to any WIFI hotspots outside your home?

Or, is your home WIFI setup secure?

You might want to find out who here is a mac expert about securing thier pc/laptop, and asking them for advice.

I'm sorry that happened to you, and you did the right them by canceling your CC.
