Wasn't one of the ideas that people can sort of have their own personal controllers that they can take with them?
Only thing I've seen that makes use of the Remote's 4kb of onboard storage (iirc) was just your Mii, and so far, that's about it.
Regarding the 'crappy games' thing, it's true. Even if it's not at the hardcore audience, a lot of the 'casual' games being spilled out left and right are of abysmal quality 75% of the time. Things that'd look bad even by N64 standards.
