I went back to fiddle with some of my Blitz3D code after a long while of using BlitzMax and I must admit, though it was quite nostalgic (not done much on it for a long time), it was like taking a step back language-wise.
I do admire the C/C++ compilers for their output capabilities, I like the amount of fast low level stuff the language exposes too, but in terms of being hard to set up, tricky to manage and cryptic to read, the actual language or perhaps just the implementation of it is a pain.
Perhaps when Max3D makes an appearance, BlitzMax will take its' place as the replacement for Blitz3D I've been waiting for.
