Is BlitzMax the best programming language?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Is BlitzMax the best programming language?

Ok, just had to stray from the topic to answer these:

But C is not C++, C is clean, easy, simple, and the closest language to machine code you can find. It was indeed developed to be a macro language for machine code programmers.

That's all very true, but that only makes it better than BlitzMax for a narrow range of programming; namely device drivers, operating systems and extremely time-critical (parts of) applications.

C# is not Windows only, like Leadwerks said, but there exists also a Linux version, however, it's a language which tried to combine BASIC and C++, failing in both, so it's worse than the worst languages you can imagine. It's also slower than BlitzMax.

Basic and C++?!? It has about as much Basic in it as Java, because it's 90+% Java, really - just with some stupidities from the class libraries ironed out. Also, "slower than BlitzMax" is not categorically true in my experience. Try running some benchmarks.

If I could have C# with BlitzMax syntax I'd be more than happy to never touch another programming language.
