For anyone interested in my Blitz3D remake of Sabre Wulf, here is my latest post to the retro remakes forum:

Update time!

By heck this last week has been a frustrating time!
It has also been very satisfying, as I have managed to make a number of things work, that I had absolutely no idea of how to do beforehand.

Let's see...
- several optimisations (particularly during vertical scrolling)
- player's movement is complete
- inertia has been added (though it is very small). This was really difficult.
- collision has to be reworked due to inertia. Grrrrr.
- player animation is in
- basic shadowing is in. This will eventually only apply to moving characters and pickups.
- player's spin is in. This was extremely difficult to get right. Now that it works, I don't know why it was so hard. Ain't programming like that?!?!

Spin? What's that all about? (I hear you ask).

Well, it's time to reveal my little gimmick.
My game will from henceforth and thither be known as "Papre Wulf".
The hero of the story is called "Papre Man".

Give it a bash and see what you think.
Also, please try to break it.
I think it is all very solid, but I am a paranoid little man.

I'm starting to doubt that I will finish Papre Wulf within the deadline...
