It wont be long before Console games too are released with bugs and such, once they start providing internet updates and patches for them, the bandwagon for rushed shipping and later hotfixes will happen on consoles too.

I dont see piracy as having that big an effect on the PC gaming market.
Consoles survive because he younger generation want to kjust play games out of the box, with less messing about. The multiplayer aspect of consoles (not net based either, but two or more people sat aroud the same console) is something that home computers for general lack of multiple controller inputs and games designed for this (Yes, it's easily possible, but games are just not being or have not been designed for this - I'm talking generally, don;t flood me with references to the meagre few games that do support multiplayer functionality on PC) has meant that consoles far beat the PC in this manner of 'social gaming'. The huge popularity of quick, fun online multiplayer games for the PC shows how it appeals to the market. Though even online is not the same as sitting with your friends in the same room.

LAN parties etc. are just not readily possiblee for the majority of youngsters, so the console and their friends to p[lay as well is clearly the winning combination.
