Ubisoft jumps on the bandwagon.

Just because people say something doesn't mean it true... show me the numbers, I've yet to see any substantiated numbers from the software industry. I've seen far too much information that refutes these claims. Not that there isn't piracy, but that there is plenty of support for a company to make big profits. look at my response in the last thread about the supposed death of pc gaming. for gods sake even crysis, a game with super high HW requirements sold over 1.5 million as May and returned it's $200 million development costs and is now making profit. oh my, when it first came out it was supposedly "plagued" by piracy too. hmmm.

I like this posters thinking although I can't substantiate it
We already know the real reason why they delay games for the PC and it has nothing to do with piracy and more to do with Microsoft. They are on record as saying that if the PC version is released at the same time as the console version then copies of the console version suffer because people would rather buy the game for the PC. So they only way that the consoles can compete with the PC is to take the PC out of the equation all together.

So is piracy killing the PC industry ? nope admittedly it isn’t helping the PC industry what is killing the PC industry is developers like Ubisoft whoring themselves to Microsoft.
