On the PC I've played Gears of War, Race Driver Grid, Assasins Creed, etc. All incredibly shallow boring games.
It's probably time for you to just get a new hobby LOL.
You're talking about some of the most fun games around. A lot of people dumped on Assassin's Creed for being redundant but Gears of War and GRID were sweet. I'm very surprised you didn't enjoy the racer, the cars in it had a very nice feel with the in-car view. Grated I played the Xbox 360 version on a 60" HD set at my cousin's which might have offered a different experience than a PC monitor but still that game was a rush.
I do think there's a point a gamer can reach where they stop letting their imagination aid the gameplay experience and they just become apathetic. If you sit there and think about games in a stark fashion there's really nothing exciting about them. It's not like you can actually gain something real from them, it's all in the mind of the beholder.
Additionally, I played all of those games with other people (at least in the room taking turns). I know you're real big on single player stuff which changes the game.
