Firstly, UK is a member of the Echelon project along with the US, Canada and others. Which means, this is to a big degree happening today.
Echelon is largely used for Industrial Espionage, and only works across satellite links. with more and more traffic being routed across fiber optic and copper links, ECHELON is more or less useless these days. Guns help greatly - for instance, when the time comes to shoot the scum who enslave us with their arcane financial trickery.
What kind of gun exactly? I mean if you're going to go up against a M1 Abrams, a B2 Stealth bomber with "new-killer" payloads or an AH-64 Apache helicopter gunship, you're gonna have to have one mean gun. Even the Iraqi Insurgents don't have a fighting chance, and they have military grade explosives and RPGs!
