Anyone who is worried that Spore is going to be a big dissapointment after the wait can stop. It's really, really, good, Maxis have managed to create another one of those games you enjoy so much you suddenly find the hours just vanishing.
The tutorials and evolution in the game is superb, it's just paced nicely; you learn at about the right speed and it's not too easy or too hard. Before you have a chance to get bored you are moved onto the next stage, a couple of times now I haven't wanted a stage to end because I was enjoying it a lot.
I'm currently on the Tribal bit which is interesting.
One thing I did find a little frustrating is you can't do some things (like diplomacy) properly until you have collected enough "bits" and the order you get "bits" in seems quite random. I suppose it's good because it means you have to adapt your play to what you get but it is a little annoying, this is a tiny niggle though.
