128GB flash storage systems have been around in the defence sector for a while (at six-digit cost). Everything always gets cheaper. I bought an 8GB SDHC card for less than £35 a month ago. An equivalent product would have cost 4X as much in 2007.

Of course 128GB SSD's are going to become affordable. The rate at which prices drop are somewhat logarithmic. SSD's will maintain a price level above similar spec HD's for some time, but the gap will close, quite rapidly at first.

Beyond 128BG SSD's will be 256GB, 512GB and 1TB units (I'm sure there will be 384, 640 etc inbetween as well). Performance will increase, prices will drop, power requirements will drop and uptake will increase.

Market forces at their most basic.

As for the megnetic induction, sorry folks but I don't see a future for it. Far too energy inefficient at a time where efficiency is becoming a real watchword in the energy sector.
