Although I don't understand how one could apply those ideas into AI and 'just' have a pattern system. Would you not need to input a real 'Goal'? Telling an ultra intelligent computer to understand won't do it lol.
It's almost as if people think if you give a computer the ability to learn, they'll do everything automatically, but without a programmed concious that contains goals, that doesn't seem possible. It's like giving a sub-concious without a concious.
