ATI is so close to going under financially that they will probably not have to worry about the issue. I just hope they take AMD with them.
That has to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Having had tons of processors in the past ten years I have to say without a doubt that the earlier Intel processors (233MMX) was amazingly reliable as soon as it hit PII processors the shit hit the fan. From then on AMD was amazingly reliable and for me its been that way ever since.
Hell my old AMD is in my wifes computer and its still going after a couple of years (XP3000+). Her P4 3Ghz lasted all of six months before dying, even after replacing it that one died as well (also replaced the computer and that died). So AMD are the best bet for me I dont mind waiting for them to play catchup I would never go for a Intel or Gigabyte again.
