I agree threading is important already and is going to become even moreso especially when you're starting to get 2, 4 or even many cores and can only use one of them - effectively a major performance hit.

I think Apple has a great future with the iPhone apps and I'd definitely be developing for it if BlitzMax could be persuaded in that direction, especially since we're likely to see yet another wave of really basic crappy games being released for it to begin with (as usual).

I do think a few Blitz developers have produced and released some products in reasonably large numbers, Gray for example is doing quite well, but I wouldn't say anyone has really hit the bigtime and turned into a millionaire. We're pretty much all still Indie developers with small-time or non-existant budgets. The quality bar has to be raised quite a bit in most Blitz products, and it's not so much because of Blitz limiting people.

I don't see any reason to drop Linux now that it's already supported, but I do agree to adding mobile/iPhone/arm outlets. I think there would be a LOT of interest from new developers/customers if BlitzMax could compile for iPhone or other handhelds. I certainly don't want to have to learn something like Objective C or use something like XCode just to be able to support it.

As an aside, whatever happened to `Amiga Anywhere`, supposedly the next great better than Java platform? I think Java started out on the wrong foot by not having fast JIT compilation originally, it gave itself an image as a slow language and Javascript didn't exactly help.
