I started with Basic on my MSX with help from some books with nice examples.
After that I played a bit with a MS-Dos Basic on an old 286, but I'm not sure which basic that was. I also had an Amiga 500 at that time, but I actually started using Blitzbasic 2 on my Amiga CD32 with SX-1 and learned that from the big book which was included in the box.
The reason I bought BlitzBasic at that time is because some of the greatest titles on Amiga where made in it and that the language was Basic.
I loved that language because I never knew programming games could be that easy.
After I went fully to PC I went back to Qbasic a bit for small stuff, but I never knew Blitz went to PC also at that time. At the time I found out I bought BlitzMax directly, it just remembered me too good old times with BlitzBasic 2. I learned Blitzmax from this great forum.
