Crysis is great in delta mode, where its more realistic than most and allows for some pretty good stealth strategy and sniping. If you like Unreal/Quake type run and gun it might not be for you.
What I like is the stealthy sneaking, combined with fun physics, and subtly gameplay features that make it fun for sneaky players. Like being able to tell where enemies are by the direction of their bullets. (They hit bend and snap foilage in their trajectory, not just break chunks off, plus from high ground you can see the foilage being shoved around by the bad guys below even when you can't see them. It's these little details that make the game fun for me. Plus you can do pretty good sniping over great distances, with practice even with pretty lousy guns, and they can't always tell where your shooting from.
To be honest I only really played the game for the kind of gameplay thats avaliable in the demo. So your best bet is to try the demo and see if you enjoy that.
