Console games have always been simple pick up and play arcade games, and thats the kind of people they attract.
But you just said that Gears of War was a simple console game, and should have been more like Mass Effect which is also a console game. So which is it? If Mass Effect is a complex game, and at the same time a console game, then surely your statement about console games = simple games is positively falsified? Yep, the new GTA is coming out for PC, unless I missed a story on that one?
There isn't one. Take Two have never said they were going to release a PC version (that's simply an assumption made by rabid fans), and with the XBox 360 version recuperating development costs on the first day of sales in the UK alone, there doesn't seem like much incentive to risk it. They are always 18 months behind on PC but have higher resolutions, mod-able content, etc.
That's not entirely accurate. Bully for instance was never released on the PC, and prior to GTA: Vice City, all GTA games where released on the PC first. In relative terms, the PC is more open than the xbox 360, PS3, Ninty DS, etc.
Sure. But openness doesn't guarantee success. Just look at Linux. The cost of game development taken into consideration, the price of an SDK for a console is peanuts, and anyone who can't afford one, probably isn't going to do too well in the long run anyway. I hope you find your faith in PC gaming again, mate.
Me too. But with Spore being the only PC game in the foreseeable future, I don't have much hope. Even Sid Meier is starting to make console games. I mean Civilization? On a console? What is the world coming to? Again you talking trash.
Really? Don't you remember? Didn't you read Winni's post? If it hadn't been for Quake (2), and John Carmack choosing to license his technology to third parties (in this case to Valve) there wouldn't even have been a Half-Life, much less a sequel. pretty much every game from ID was huge texh demo.
Yes. They're a technology company. Go figure. they are not technologicaly advanced as your lovely ID.
First of all, they're not my ID, nor are they particularly lovely. Second of all, saying that The Sims and World of Warcraft aren't technologically advanced games, is simply ignorant.
