PC gaming is officially dead.

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/PC gaming is officially dead.

as was the 8/16 bit days its easier to work with a fixed system like a console than a pc that may be too slow to run a game decently (or walk in my gfx case) or pc gamers have to think
buy x games that i can play
buy a new gfx card to play one that i want to play

dont know the ins and outs between the ps3 and the 360 do coders go for the common ground (ps360) cranking one to the limit and the other hardly used at all
or make the most of each system (like they kinda did with the 8bits) so each console has the 'x game is better on my system than yours' office/playground scuffles (i also hate platform exclusives)

i got doom 3 for the xbox and although they may have knobbled it here and there (i dont know) it was guarantied to run
got it for the pc as the system was new (then) and the game old
gfx card said eeh! urh! (family fortunes sound) same with lego starwars without hardware T&L no go ... i dont know what improvements they made to the 350 version as i have the 'classic'

i just want to play games (when im not working all hours every day) not system / game tweak to get it to run (even if i do stump up for a new card it would strop about some other part)

perhaps they should have made a system checklist that banded together various specs as A B C etc
my pc is rated 2008 G this game is rated 2008 A so i cannot play it
but i can play 2008 G onwards games
but by 2009 the 2008 A might be listed as D
