Well, the codec always was a replacement for cutscenes from a time when cutscenes were expensive to implement. So it makes sense that you no longer have enemies and every other person you talk to in the game contacting you on it.
I finished the game a couple weeks ago. I was dissapointed with how they ended it. I was dissapointed with the cutscenes. I was dissapointed with the lack of sneaking in combat and the aiming system.
But overall, I still enjoyed the game enough to finish it, which is saying something, because I almost never finish games. I haven't finished Mario Galaxy, or Smash Brothers, or the latest Paper Mario game, or Twilight Princess, or even Bioshock. Hell, I didn't even finish Portal because when I got near the end I thought I still had 90 more jumping puzzles to go.
Last game I finished was Episode 2 I think.
However, I finished it thinking the ending was going to be worth it. It wasn't really. But the middle was worth it I think. At least the middle felt like an action movie.
