That's not the way I remember it. The failed attempt to conquer the states after pouring millions into getting FCC approval, the fiasco that was the ABC range, a warehouse full of unsold Electrons and escalating development costs (ARM, Master ETC). All this just as the bottom was falling out of the home computer market left Acorn in debt, with it's creditors petitioning for the company to be wound up. This is when the deal with Olivetti was struck.It was all over the trade press at the time.
