I think that for the moment nothing will change..
The ethanol like energy is already ready (you can have it from rotten grain..), and it tested from 10 years (many farmer use it to burn) try to immagine this scenary:
Huge company sell an important thing, that thing it's used by all the world and slowly this things became rare.. If something is rare the price grow over and over than know think about it:
The most rich man of the world are the owner of this huge company do you really think they allow other person to sell car that use ethanol? (the price of ethanol is near to 0 rather than gasoline)
I don't think so..
