I have a dedicated SVN server running Ubuntu. The Unit cost me £20 (QUID) on ebay and it's been running 24-7 for over 9 months. I use Tortoise on the desktops and also have vpn access for customers. I backup the svn using backuppc and then backup all the units using the automated backup on the Freecom network pro. Basically source is replicated across all network machines, it's centrally based and also exists on a removable NAS. :)
