In fairness, your quoted portion of my post wasn't written very well. I know what you were getting at there, but I always fear that people misinterpret it as meaning "no support whatsoever because open source software developers are lazy... the GIT version control system is aptly named" -- which is definitely a misconception I do not want to see grown, especially as an unintended side-effect.
