The only reason I would buy a console (if, when games are no longer sold on the PC) is if it had a keyboard and mouse (no, not just for web browsing, I want to PLAY games with them).
Exactly, and by the time you have a console with a keyboard and a mouse - and bearing in mind that Microsoft are already in the console business and unlikely to want out any time soon - what have you got? A PC with a fixed hardware standard. Isn't the lack of a fixed hardware standard the single biggest bugbear for PC developers? ( Leaving aside piracy which is technically more of a boogieman than a bugbear. )
