On the cinema part:
well here in switzerland a single cinema ticket costs 16+ USD per film + 15 min of advertisement before it actually starts + in break advertisment + toilet ads + lobby ads
Oh and popcorn costs 4-10USD, a 0.5l cola etc costs 5USD (in a regular store a street further the cola costs 1.1 USD, popcorn 1.30-3.5) so they make uf for the already crazy cinema prices by making even crazier drink and snack prices. Even in a restaurant or pub drinking starts to be cheaper heck!!
So I guess at least on that end they have very little problems here, still not pushed hard enough to lower the prices on a competitive level (the film rentals cost the cinemas per ticket 3 EUR more in CH than they do in any surrounding country)
