I don't know if there's anything 'wrong' with the system (aside from a much needed undo in 3DWS, and some scalability to the engine) but my personal issue is with what Josh decides to work on and what he doesn't. I purchased 3DWS partly because I was led to believe there'd be an upgrade to version 6 made cheaper for those who owned version 5 fairly shortly afterwards, but it seems Josh has changed his mind and now... well, who knows? I have no idea when version 6 is due, but it certainly doesn't seem to be soon. Josh doesn't seem to want to comment, and from what I've heard, if Josh does decide to work on 3DWS 6, it'll mostly be designed for his engine and not much else.

My issue with the Leadwerks engine then is- who the heck would pay for something which has that kind of support? I certainly won't. An engine can be the most featured in the world, but without solid support, it's just not worth looking at... especially when for the most part it's untested.

As I said, there's nothing exactly wrong with Leadwerks and the associated products (3DWS works as advertised)- it's more than Josh just isn't the kind of guy I'd rely on to see development in the future, because he seems to change his mind and attitude too much. If Josh would like to correct or comment on what I've said here- awesome. If not, that's my take on it.
