when unity3d comes to windows

I'm with taumel. Torque goes a long way to putting me off of game development entirely. Mainly because the art pipeline is incredibly weak, convoluted and limiting.

What modern engine with shaders only offers 1 UV channel!!! Only Torque Game Engine Advanced. So no way to use anything but CSG, BSP and get lightmaps etc.

Even though they have polysoup collisions for their regular geometry format now, you can't create anything that looks good because you can't do multitexturing with 2 UVmaps, so no tiling on structures and mesh based scenery. No lightmapping or ambient occlusion maps. So limited multitexturing even with shaders!!

Garage games seem to be a lot worse than unity at overstating the features and capabilities of their two 3D engines. Maybe Torque 2 will fix some of these engines. Seems like thay have about 5 or so seperate engines these day.

If they spent more time focusing on one and fixing the glaring issues like poor art pipeline, weak collisions, poor physics, basic non skinnable selection of UI Widgets and a buggy map to DIF compiler, along with a geometry format that is almost 10 years old with few improvements.

There is much better out there than torque unless you need a quick generic MP FPS game.

Garage Games does seem to be getting better slowly now that the founders have stepped asside and let new blood take hold of the reins somewhat.
