I should have stated that i was comparing it to other products that are similar ie torque, shiva, 3d gamestudio.
Unity is a totally different kettle of fish to products like blitzmax.
Coding your own game from scratch can't be compared to making stuff in editor type dev tools, especially if you know what your doing. You will always be limited by certain aspects of the tools. When coding it you have less limits.
ps then again i can't think of 3d genres unity3d couldn't do whic is why it is called unity'3D'.
