when unity3d comes to windows

I say so ;) Don't get me wrong- Unity looks great... I can just see a few issues cropping up from the use of it, that's all. People should start with the game, and then produce the assets. I can see a great deal of people who could be doing that, instead starting with the pretty assets they want to make and then trying to make a game out of it. Of course, this has happened with Blitz to a degree too, but I don't think it's to the same degree as what you'll see with Unity.

The indie game scene is already flooded with lame games produced because of that mindset. For those that aren't sold... that's fine of course, but many people want to be able to sell what they make. While something like Unity is an excellent product, it's a shame in some ways that what it pushes forward the most is all the pretty assets that can be produced. When you combine that with an editor that's based on producing games in a certain few genres (fps, 3rd person, etc) you start to see what most of the games produced will look like.
