when unity3d comes to windows

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/when unity3d comes to windows

I like a well thought out rudimentary systems such as BlitzMax because they are less complex and it's fun building your own thing if the base is well designed, at least to a certain degree. In this respect there is light and shadow with Unity as there are still obvious commands missing and they sometimes do care more about features like shadows on terrain which is sexier to quite some users according to what they say. So hopefully cheeseholes will be filled as time goes by but you also shouldn't underestimate what's possible already. As said before i don't know a second single compareable tool...

What i can't understand is this argumentation about editors and why they should harm you at all, as you are free to go to use the IDE or code your whole way from a to z. So if i want to place some trees in a more comfortable way you use the IDE, if i want computated stuff like 100^3 cubes you write code or just mix both as you please. I don't see why this should lead to less unique games.
