-you totally missed the point. The fact that the apps are there means that 90% of windows users will automatically adopt them giving an grossly unfair advantage.
A grossely unfair advantage at what, to what? To providing a free music player?
-Tools yes, applications no. I personally would like it all installed as a consumer, but i would also like free money back with every purchase. But speaking as someone who examines the market, then no, as its not fair trading.
Why? How do you define what's an application and what's a tool? Free money with every purchase? Why? I don't see what's so wrong with giving away some small necessary applications with their OS, something which every other vendor has also done.
Why would making people pay seperately for stuff like notepad, media player, paint, internet exploerer etc be better? How would the consumer benefit?
I think patentning standards is ridiculous and wrong but you can't single out Microsoft for doing this. However I would support Microsoft's right to create any standards it wants to for whatever reasons it likes. In the same way I can create a standard for anything I like, I can't make anyone else follow it unless they want to but I can have a standard.
