Blitz Research and Idigicon divorced years ago. I think Idigicon got custody of the original Blitz Basic. So BRL may not even have the fix for the old installer problem ( improper checking of IE version ).
It might not be too hard to fix the old code so it runs with Blitz3D. The sound/music system changed at some point. Look in your Blitz3D folder for the versions.txt file. Then search that for PlayMusic.
