Yeah, it would be nice for PCs to be slimmer, and a new card size come out to replace current ones. As for the computer design in question, I have to agree with Jeremy - a render farm would probably be more efficient and could fit the job to a budget. All we really need anymore is better code-wise support for parrallel processing. I don't know much about multithreading, but from what I learned about Java's methods, it just doesn't seem that reasonable.
