My ultimate goal is to make an insanely ambitious game, which doesn't compromise on anything because I need to make money, and which basically becomes the game I wish I could have bought in recent years

Actually that's always been my goal too. I've played so many games since I was 8 and always though "why did they do that?" or "why didn't they do this?" and knew I could do better given a chance. But instead of leaping in at the MMORPG level I've decided to build up gradually with my skills and resources until I make the equivalent of a Victorian Folly! :-)
