how many macs are their (that are currently supported not retro models)
5? more? less?
when you have less 'models' 'flavours' or what ever you want to lable them as you can get your OS to work out of the box on all hardware platofrms
but pc's their are a gazillion combinations these days
so thats one thing that helps macs ... (afaik never gone mac shopping) limited choice
like the old days of amiga

and their big box cousins
but also if you make the buttons nicer looking than just 'buttons' although nothing more than eye candy it can improve the feel of using the computer
but in the end the OS is what keeps the pc (including macs) going for you whilst you work on what ever program you are using
a digital photographer might want a mac for better editing software
if the software was evens across windows and mac os then it would probably be consumer preference (although pc's under cut macs 9 times out of 10 (i guess))
