Is it to provide learning examples, provide concept code, commercial quality plug-in code etc?
The latter two.
As for the learning examples: there are tutorial sections for that.
Among others, this the kind of stuff I'd expect from the archive:
- A* algos, ready to use, small/compact
- new/missing string functions
- new gadgets
So, really extensions to the default blitz set. These things could be put away in some kinda functional code archive with small/medium-sized functions.
Furthermore there could be a code-solutions archive with longer pieces of code showing a concept or howto. Also, smaller complete games could be put into this section.
And perhaps finally a beginner section, where beginners can show their "hey look at my red oval"-stuff. However, question is whether the dedicated forums aren't the place for that in the first place.
