My parents smoked when I was little, so I kind of got attached to the smell. That and the sensation of freedom are the things why I started smoking. I started after I broke up with a GF I had dated for four years.

I think the freedom is an important thing about smoking. Now that I have quit smoking, I'm not giving myself a freedom of choice. I like smoking. I would love to have a smog right now. I'm just telling myself that I can't have any. I've heard about some shrink methods to help quitting. Like changing this freedom thinking through self suggestion. Moving from 'I can't smoke anymore' to 'I can smoke, but choose not to do it'.

Its funny how treacherous the human mind is when it gets used to something. Very soon after I quit, I simply forgot all the reasons why I quit and only those things that were positive about smoking buzzed in my mind. The sensation of wanting to quit smoking is totally gone. Only thing that keeps me going is that I know my mind is playing tricks on me. I also know that if I start smoking again, the next time I want to quit, its going to be even harder.

I shouldn't be thinking about this. I think I'll watch a movie now.
