Absolutely nothing you can do about it.
After all, the from: field in any email is completely arbitrary, and most mailservers will let you put anything there. Then once the message is on the internet, the receiving server has no idea that it wasn't verified, and doens't know it wasn't really you either.
Unfortunately spam wasn't considered when the SMTP standards were created.
So... nothing you can do about it, other than wait it out. In my experience a spam-wave in someone's name rarely lasts longer than a week.
