2. its clear that not all genres suite that funding method that well. But there definitely are some that would highly benefit from it.
fact is, if they don't do anything, pc gaming is at its end. the game prices nearly doubled here in the past 5 years ... expansions today are as expensive as full games used to be a few years ago (nearly 50 USD)
The current PC prices are only 10% below the X360 ones ...
Given the fact that you need to buy highly expensive hardware to play them, this is just not acceptable ... especially as console games include license fees towards MS, Sony and Nintendo, which PC games don't have
