Not at all. Ads for contemporary commodities in a science fiction setting may undermine the artistic integrity of the setting. Same goes for fantasy.
Totally agree. Many science fiction films have fictional adverts in them - Robocop as a great satirical example - but if they were real adverts it would be totally incongruous.
